Not Suitable For Walking

Not Suitable for Walking
Over the years I have learned that picking the right shoe for an event is harder than it seems. Not only does it have to match your outfit, but you also have to consider the dress code, season, and the amount of walking that is necessary. The last is so important. I have beautiful shoes that will get me from the valet to my seat. Those shoes are perfect for dinner or a theater event. Most of the shoes in this category are either stilettos or strappy. I have recently learned that kitten-heeled slides also fit into this category. Alas, I made the novice mistake of thinking that a low-heeled shoe would be suitable for walking. So not true if it is a slide. These made-in-Italy leather-soled shoes really did a number on my feet which resulted in eight blisters. Eight! On the way home, I mentioned to my husband that I had to label these shoes “Not Suitable for Walking”. He wondered why I didn’t just throw them away.
